CNC Small Hole EDM Operation

1. Material Assessment: Select materials suitable for CNC small hole EDM, often involving conductive materials like tungsten, ceramics, or exotic alloys.
2. Small Hole Electrode Selection: Choose a specialized small hole electrode, often made of brass or copper, and accurately position it to create tiny holes or start holes in the workpiece.
3. Workpiece Fixturing: Securely hold the workpiece on the CNC small hole EDM machine, ensuring precise alignment with the small hole electrode.
4. CNC Setup: Configure the CNC machine by loading the specific CNC program, setting tool offsets, work offsets, small hole electrode parameters, and flushing rates.
5. Small Hole EDM Process: Activate the CNC machine to initiate electrical discharges between the small hole electrode and the workpiece, eroding material and producing extremely small, precise holes with high aspect ratios as specified in the programmed instructions.
